Appro\u00adxi\u00adm\u00adate\u00adly 150 g of alfal\u00adfa sprouts grow from 1 tab\u00adles\u00adpoon of seeds over the cour\u00adse of 7 days. The alfal\u00adfa seeds are first soa\u00adked in water in a cup or glass for 6 hours. (I do this rou\u00adti\u00adne\u00adly after making the cele\u00adry juice, then the seeds are rea\u00addy to soak at luncht\u00adi\u00adme and rea\u00addy to be decan\u00adted.) The seeds are then rin\u00adsed in a sie\u00adve under run\u00adning water. Then dis\u00adtri\u00adbu\u00adte the pre-swol\u00adlen seeds in the top lay\u00ader of the tower. Now water again with fresh water becau\u00adse the seeds will then spread evenly.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"ein-heller-platz-fur-die-anzucht-von-alfalfa-sprossen\">A bright place for gro\u00adwing alfal\u00adfa sprouts<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The seeds are pla\u00adced in a bright place to ger\u00admi\u00adna\u00adte; in autumn and win\u00adter, direct sun\u00adlight for 3\u20134 hours is not a pro\u00adblem. The opti\u00admal tem\u00adpe\u00adra\u00adtu\u00adre for gro\u00adwing alfal\u00adfa sprouts is bet\u00adween 18\u00b0C and 22\u00b0C. To do this, approx. 200 ml of fresh water is pou\u00adred onto the sprouts. Plea\u00adse let the water drain careful\u00adly. This can hap\u00adpen from around day 3\u20135, but it is the exception.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In order to pre\u00advent the pro\u00adblem of water\u00adlog\u00adging in such a case, from around day 3 onwards I don\u2019t let the sprouts run in the hori\u00adzon\u00adtal posi\u00adti\u00adon direct\u00adly on the sprout tower, but ins\u00adtead take each fil\u00adled bowl indi\u00advi\u00addu\u00adal\u00adly to the sink and hold it at an ang\u00adle so that the water can drain away. If I place my spread hand direct\u00adly on the sprouts, I can hold the bowl very slan\u00adted, even bey\u00adond a 90\u00b0 ang\u00adle. Here I pro\u00adceed very careful\u00adly to ensu\u00adre that all the water has drai\u00adned away. Stan\u00adding water cau\u00adses water\u00adlog\u00adging and the sprouts start to mold easi\u00adly. This does\u00adn\u2019t hap\u00adpen if you drain careful\u00adly. Some\u00adti\u00admes the extre\u00adme\u00adly fine fib\u00adrous roots are con\u00adfu\u00adsed with mold; the smell test pro\u00advi\u00addes infor\u00adma\u00adti\u00adon about this. Fib\u00adrous roots smell fresh and not mus\u00adty. If mold has for\u00admed, for exam\u00adp\u00adle becau\u00adse you for\u00adgot to water it twice, the bowl must be tho\u00adrough\u00adly brushed with hot water and a litt\u00adle fruit vin\u00adegar befo\u00adre the next&nbsp;use.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>By the 5th or 6th day, the alfal\u00adfa sprouts have grown so tall that they want to grow over the edge. From that point on I take the lid off to give them even more room to rise. Before\u00adhand, the lid does a good job as it crea\u00adtes a bene\u00adfi\u00adci\u00adal mini-green\u00adhouse cli\u00adma\u00adte. I find it an advan\u00adta\u00adge of the tower that I can easi\u00adly touch the sprouts with my hand every day when wate\u00adring, stro\u00adke the green heads and thus deve\u00adlop an even more per\u00adso\u00adnal con\u00adnec\u00adtion with them. (The litt\u00adle plants are able to read the gardener\u2019s infor\u00adma\u00adti\u00adon through a per\u00adso\u00adnal rela\u00adti\u00adonship with them. The sprouts read our bodies, our organs, our blood and know what is wrong and what our histo\u00adry is. They do ever\u00ady\u00adthing for this , to alter their nut\u00adri\u00adents so that they are spe\u00adci\u00adfi\u00adcal\u00adly tail\u00ado\u00adred to our phy\u00adsi\u00adcal and men\u00adtal needs). Unfort\u00adu\u00adna\u00adte\u00adly, this dai\u00adly cont\u00adact is not pos\u00adsi\u00adble when gro\u00adwing alfal\u00adfa sprouts in a sprout jar.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"die-alfalfa-sprossen-sind-am-8-tag-erntereif\">The alfal\u00adfa sprouts are rea\u00addy to har\u00adve\u00adst on the 8th&nbsp;day<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>On day 8, the sprouts are rea\u00addy to har\u00adve\u00adst and can be used in a varie\u00adty of ways. The seeds can be eaten who\u00adle and not\u00adhing needs to be cut off. Alfal\u00adfa tas\u00adtes fresh, mild and jui\u00adcy and goes per\u00adfect\u00adly in a salad (e.g. with cucum\u00adbers, pep\u00adpers, oni\u00adons, toma\u00adtoes, gar\u00adlic and oran\u00adge juice) or in a smoothie with bana\u00adnas, man\u00adgo or fruit of your choice. Nori rolls with alfal\u00adfa, cucum\u00adber strips and pep\u00adper strips are also very tasty. They are also a gre\u00adat addi\u00adti\u00adon to bread or as a fresh deco\u00adra\u00adti\u00adon on soups or other dis\u00adhes. But you can also juice them very&nbsp;well.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Rec\u00adtan\u00adgu\u00adlar glass con\u00adtai\u00adners are ide\u00adal for short-term sto\u00adrage in the ref\u00adri\u00adge\u00adra\u00adtor, each with a sheet of paper towels pla\u00adced in them to absorb excess water. In our two-per\u00adson house\u00adhold, we use the sprouts from 3 sprout towers with a total of 9 lay\u00aders every week from Octo\u00adber to April. I also have 5 other sprout jars (see pic\u00adtu\u00adre), which are also used from Octo\u00adber to April.
